 Overall job purpose
Through a business partnership approach, the role wil provide best-practice, strategic marketing, communications and citizenship support to the business, he ping the Bank to execute against its business objectives. The role will support the business in meeting its strategic goals through optimizing investments in brand & marketing, communications and citizenship. Furthermore, the role seeks to drive awareness, preference, usage and loyalty to Absa with customer centric integrated marketing programs and initiatives.
Main accountabilities
- Bring to ife Absa brand strategy, positioning and values within country through the three lenses of Marketing, Communicationsand ESG.
Fully entrench Absa brand in the market and ensure brand equity goes from strength-to-strength vis a vis competitors. Contribute to business growth as a key member of Country Leadership team, by translating business requirements into marketing & communications objectives.
- Lead development and execution of in-country marketing, communications and ESG strategy, and associated annua plans with assistance via an insights led approach.
Drive and develop content that is on message, on brand, accurate and tailored appropriately to the business needs, the target audiences and channe s to be used, and ultimately acting as the gatekeeper of the brand franchise internally and externally. Ensure imp.ementation of integrated internal and externa communications strategies, including overseeing policy, guidelines â–¡nd governance.
- Ensure the strategic positioning of business and team activities and prcfi ing of relevant executives to external audiences (media, stakeholders, public) through stakeholder engagements.
Relationship-manage key media stakeholders, and other influencers, in order to optimise our exposure and perception in times of opportunity as we as chai enge.
- Entrench and build a strong Absa brand, that is true to the overall brand guidelines while nuanced for local insights, across al key stakeholders and a I appropriate touch points.
Implement and manage the Absa Global ESG agenda in the Botswana market.
Education and experience required
- Bachelor Degree in Marketing and/or Communications.
- Masters degree in Business Administration is essential.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years work experience.
Experience of working in a multinational, mu ti-segment. environment with matrix reporting.
- Awareness of cultural differences and varying legal/regulatory environments.
- Banking or Financial services industry related knowledge.
