Job Description
Role Responsibilities
- Develops the strategic, operational roadmaps and the scope of work of the data centres. The scope includes; architectural, physical, power, cooling, continuity, security, safety etc.
- Continuously review and optimize the infrastructure, operational process and procedures within the data centres to prevent technical outages
- Coordinates and plans for the upcoming activities, daily operations and upkeep of the data centre
- Defines and assess the existing data centre procedures and process and proposes improvements
- Manages SLAs by monitoring and reporting performance / uptime of technical environment based on SLAs, vendor contracts
- Accountable for the allocation of resources within the data centre, such as allocation of floor/rack spaces, power points, network connections and make the technical decisions (Go / No Go)
- Provides hosting (managed) services in the data centre and associated capacity planning and dimensioning
- Has overall responsibility and accountability for the annual planning/ schedule/goals and budget for the data centres
- Defines the data centre strategy to support the digital transformation, hosting initiatives and the ICT environment.
- Defines & coordinates disaster tests checking internal redundancy of the DC
- Responsible for technical and operational problems and work with SMC and Outsourced Partner to instantly solve deviations, alarms and incidents.
- Supports with realization of operational custom changes (e.g: connecting power, network cables, rack and equipment installations etc)
- Plans, executes and documents annual maintenance and management plans (e.g: end of life, major changes etc)
- Secures the continuity, security and connectivity of the data centre to confirm and align to services level agreements and uptime standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- MSc in Telecommunication/ Electrical Engineering/Computer Science / Mechanical Engineering.
- 6 – 7 years’ experience in ICT, Electrical environment
- Experience in facilities management
Skills:
- Strong knowledge in data centre infrastructure management, including HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), UPS (uninterruptible power supply systems), and electrical distribution
- Experience in managing and optimizing CAPEX and OPEX budgets
