Group Finance Manager – Bolux Group

Job Description

Bolux Group has an immediate opportunity for a Group Finance Manager in Ramotswa, Botswana. The Group Finance Manager will be involved in a number of activities including but not limited to financial reporting, general ledger management, accounting system administration and relationship management. This position will report to the Managing Director and will also maintain regular communication with the Accounting Group of our United States Partners.

Your principal responsibilities shall include the following:

• Production of financial reports and statements (Finpaks) in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP standards to the CEO and the US Partners.
• Coordination and execution of annual external audits and periodic internal audits monthly closing procedures with appropriate documentary control evidence.
• Manage Secretarial services for the company.
• Primary releasor of all company payments and liaison with financial institutions.
• Oversee execution of daily transactions.
• Responsible for the design and maintenance of hardware and network environment.
• Facilitate compliance with Corporate Governance Code and global IT standards which include disaster recovery and backup routines.
• Lead software initiatives to improve company business processes and reporting.
• Design and execute internal controls to ensure the protection of all company owned assets.
• Complete Sarbanes Oxley required documentation to fulfil the requirements of Partners.
• Negotiate, implement and coordinate company insurance programs in accordance with local requirements.
• Manage all corporate taxation (income, VAT, sales, etc.) with the objective of tax minimization in accordance with local practices and laws.
• Monitor tax compliance to obtain an annual tax clearance certificate.
• Manage BURS statement of account and clearance of reconciling items.
Supervision of all local financial accounting staff to ensure proper execution of all above objectives.
• Ensure weekly reporting to Partners is accurate and timely.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent
  • more than 10 years prior accounting experience.
  • US CPA or CA is required with more than 5 years post article Big 4 Audit experience preferred.
  • More than 5 years of experience reporting financials in accordance with US GAAP is a distinct requirement.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of the Accpac accounting system and experience in managing a multifunctional accounting and finance department are key.
  • Previous Board Committee participation and Corporate Governance implementation will be advantageous. Should be BICA certified.
