Job Description
Title: General Metallurgical Assistant (3 Year FTC)

Purpose of the Role
To carry out general plant operational maintenance in the section or sections, ( including unblocking sump pumps, drain lines in the plant floors, changing cyclones, cleaning clarified tank, jet sump using, overhead crane and sputnik, mobilift and sputnik and cleaning the large area of the plant using Bob cat/skid loader machine, efficiently and effectively while adhering to safety standards, policies and procedures.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiative into budgets
- Visually inspects the plant for splliage,reports on a daily basis and completes appropriate checklists and log sheets
- Performs tasks manual in confined spaces and use machine operation in open or large area to carry out tasks such as spillage, cleaning, lashing, unblocking, digging, purging removing vegetation
- Operates fixed waste disposal facilities and support equipment for cleaning, vegetation removal, etc., within the plant in accordance with set standards and guidelines:
- Performs machine checklist prior operating the machine
- Operates and controls the machine during the machine operation
- Starting and shutting the machine as required by machine operating specifications
- Acknowledging machine critical alarms and taking appropriate action. Clear spillage using Skid loader. Remove general waste from cages using tractor and waste trailer
- Performs maintenance activities in area of responsibility by
- Complies with diamond control guidelines, policies and procedures
- Provides input on diamond control as necessary

Education
- O Level
Experience
Two (2) years exposure in ore processing plants.
