OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are looking for a General Manager who will manage staff and assign tasks to engineering and technical personnel to meet project timelines. Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes. Oversees project logistics and resource allocation. Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product lines of automotive electrical wiring harnesses.
• Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
• Serves as project manager for multiple projects, creating timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
• Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
• Prepares and executes departmental budget.
• Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.
• Interpret Engineering Wiring Harness drawings and understand Product Specifications
• Thorough understanding of required Tooling, Gauges and Facility management (Assembly boards, torque machines, dip soldering, wire twisting, Cut and crimping machines,)
• Wiring harness assembly poke yoke knowledge.
• Carry out Process Capability study and implement improvements.
• Support building basic problem-solving capabilities in operations at shop floor level.
• Capacity Analysis Report and Product validation /confirmation.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Masters degree preferred.
• At least eight years of related experience is required.
