 In its pursuit to become a Competitive Commercial Power Utility within the Region, Botswana Power Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified, highly energetic, dynamic, result oriented, innovative, and customer focused individuals, who believe they can be part of a great team that delivers power to Botswana to apply for the below listed position not later than 04th January 2023.

Main purpose of the position

Performs supervisory duties in the implementation and management of fleet operations and also performs technical work in the vehicles and equipment mechanics as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs prescribed procurement activities using existing procedures to support others.
  • Operates complex processes, adjust diverse variables to achieve the best possible quality/productivity outcomes and generates solutions to simple/recurring inefficiencies.
  • Identifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, then uses established change management programs to deliver prescribed outcomes and/or provide support services.
  • Highlights shortcomings and suggests improvements in current compliance processes, systems and procedures within assigned unit and/or discipline.
  • Performs routine supply chain tasks by following established procedures to support others.
  • Performs simple contract management tasks by following established procedures in order to support others.
  • Accesses required information for specific purposes using the data management system.
  • Provides operational support by performing prescribed routine activities using existing systems and protocols.
  • Carries out simple procedural tasks to support management of internal and external client relationships.
  • Delivers own prescribed outcomes and/or provides support services by using the organization’s safety, health and environment systems and protocols.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Diploma in Transport Logistics or Equivalent.

Experience

  • At least 5 years post qualification as a mechanic in an environment with a large fleet of vehicles, of which 2 years should have been at Supervisory level.
  • Should have knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in maintenance repairs and replacement.
  • Knowledge of an automated Fleet Management System will be an added advantage.
