Finance Manager

Our client is looking to hire a Finance Manager to lead their Accounting Department. The Finance Manager is responsible for of all accounting activities of both financial and management accounting. They are responsible for preparing financial and performance reports, assisting departments with annual budgets and reviews, internal control, and tax. The incumbent will work closely with management to develop and implement strategies and plans to achieve the company’s long-term objectives. The Finance Manager reports directly to the Managing Director.

Key Performance Areas: Responsible for preparing departmental financial reports as assigned and within timescale set which include but not limited to:

  • Critically analyse and interpret company financials, advise on investment plans, monitor the company’s finances, and produce financial reports
  • Consolidating of all Company accounts
  • Experience with cross border accounting
  • Responsible for the overseeing the trial balance ensuring all GL entries are processed and reviewed timeously
  • Responsible for overseeing monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Reviews and integrates all modules (AP/AR/payroll)
  • Ensures that all taxes are prepared and submitted timeously as per statutory requirements (VAT/WHT/SAT)
  • Maintains the fixed asset register
  • Responsible for monthly inventory reconciliation
  • Reviews petty cash monthly summary expenses.
  • Ensures all cash and bank reconciliations are performed timeously
  • Evaluates all foreign suppliers and customers monthly balances
  • Acts as a custodian for all company registration documents
  • Prepares monthly fixed depreciations
  • Prepares monthly accruals and provisions
  • Prepares monthly prepayment reconciliation
  • Ensures that all company assets are covered with the appropriate insurance and organises renewals when needed

The incumbent will also be responsible for:

  • Overseeing Creditors and Debtors management
  • Overseeing Payroll and benefits management
  • Ensuring Compliance to all relevant company SOPs & policies, statutory regulations and expected company behaviours at all times, and implements corrective action when required.

Location: Gaborone

Experience – 10 years

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in English (both written and spoken)
  • above average computer skills,
  • analytical skills
  • advanced knowledge of accounting software
  • Proven knowledge of financial analysis and strategy

Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting. ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards
