Chobe Game Lodge is currently seeking qualified, experienced, knowledgeable individual to join our team for the position of an Executive Sous Chef.
EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF
Brief job overview:
- To manage all food related activities of the Lodge under the guidance of the Executive Chef. Working in harmony with the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Management.
- Developing new innovative culinary experiences for our guests that is relevant to our environment.
- Responsible for all food related expenditure, budgeting and purchasing of operational equipment and related administration.
- Maintaining high standards in hygiene, safety, operations and ECO principles that resonates well with our long term environmental sustainability strategy.
- Ensure a high standard of discipline, moral and work ethic amongst your employees.
- Take active part in our youth training program and in general lodge management with the rest of the management team.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Formal qualifications in Culinary Arts i.e a Certificate, Diploma, Degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Must have been working in a 4 or 5 star hospitality environment, internationally and nationally for a minimum of 10 years.
- Be fully computer literate and have excellent menu composition skills.
- Have strong training skills.
- Be able to multi task under pressure and have an uncompromising approach to excellence.
- It’s imperative that the applicant must have strong organizational and leadership skills, be able to motivate subordinates and maintain a positive working environment.
- Be highly innovative, methodical and a self-motivated individual. The applicant must enjoy working and living in remote bush environment.
