VACANCY
A dynamic Hotel based in Maun Is looking to fill the following position:
- Executive Chef
Responsibilities:
• To train / manage kitchen personnel and supervise all related culinary activities in the Hotel.
• To make purchase orders from the best food suppliers and be able to estimate the food consumption daily.
• Should establish suitable controls to minimize food wastage or theft.
• Should be able to develop new recipes, and standardize food production consistently.
• Should establish food presentation techniques and maintain the highest food quality standards.
• Should be able to plan and price menus from time to time.
• Should maintain the food safety standards and regular sanitation of the kitchen.
• Should oversee special catering events hosted by the Hotel and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques to the kitchen staff.
• Any other duties assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager, Operations Manager & General Manager.
Requirements
• Should have good memory of food prices.
• Should be a quick learner.
• Should pass the quarterly food hygiene audits.
• Must have experience in catering for large numbers (400+).
• Must have experience in catering for VIPs and dignitaries.
• Computer literacy (especially Excel).
• Interpersonal Skills.
• Time Management skills.
Education
• The ideal candidate should possess a culinary arts degree or diploma.
Experience
• 5 years or more experience.
• Any experience within the Hotel industry will be an added advantage.
