Description
To load and transport material as well as personnel safely and securely to the pre-determined destinations within the stipulated time and provides messenger services in accordance with the Corporation’s policies and procedures.
The driver/loader role is customer facing and upholds, values and brand which are critical to continued success. It also plays key part in keeping Airline’s brand strong by handling customers’ baggage, cargo and mail, load and offload aircraft’s and/or office delivery safely. As team player the role guarantees that mail, passengers, customer’s baggage and cargo arrive safely and on time to drive a positive customer experience and optimal service.
Requirements
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities (Key Performance Areas)
Handles and transports mail, cargo and personnel travel at departure and arrival areas of the airport in accordance with the Airline’s ground handling Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Customer Airlines’ Service Level Agreements.
Responds to calls from supervisor or shift coordinator during night shift, carries out errands as instructed and informs supervisor or coordinator upon completion as the case may be
Drives the vehicle to undertake national and international trips as instructed, adhering to Road Safety Code and ensuring continued serviceability of vehicle and safety of passengers or goods transported
Communicates with the Supervisor on compliance/non-compliance of transport requirements
Maintains effective working relationships with customers
Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
Keeps register of outgoing official mail and reconciles with stamps used.
Delivers messages and items, such as newspapers, documents, and packages between departments and to clients
Minimum Education Required
A recognized Secondary School Certificate i.e. Junior Certificate, BGCSE or equivalent.
Valid Class “B” Driver’s License and Public Services Driver’s License (PSV) are required.
On the Job Training Certificate in a related field will be an added advantage.
Minimum Experience Required
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role and work environment.
