Job Description
Ausdrill Mining Surface Botswana Proprietary Limited has been in operation in Africa since 1993. Initially started in Ghana, AMS has expanded its operations over the years into other countries in West Africa and now, Southern Africa. In line with an opportunity that has presented itself in our Botswana operations, we are seeking applications from qualified and experienced candidates to join our team.
These positions will be based at the Motheo Copper Project, located in Gantsi in Botswana. We are actively seeking to recruit several experienced mining personnel in the following positions:
- DRILL & BLAST SUPERVISOR
Job Summary
Reporting to the Drill & Blast Superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a place of work that is safe and free from risk to health and to environment with the objective of ensuring that production targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the part of the Drill & Blast operation to which he may be assigned
• Coordinate continuous improvement and optimization activities in order to ensure optimum efficiencies on drills is on-going basis.
• Ensure drill & blast equipment utilization targets are achieved in a safe manner with the help of his/ her immediate supervisor
• Data integrity and reporting (with the help of dispatcher).
• Subordinates’ effectiveness
Job Requirements
• Diploma in Mining or equivalent qualification
• 4 years’ mining experience of which 2 years were served at supervisory level
• Open Pit Blasting License
• Computer literate, and Valid Class B Drivers’ Licence
