The U.S. Mission in Gaborone, Botswana is seeking two eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Dispatcher. The work schedule for this position is:  Full Time – 40 hours per week.  The position may be subject to overtime work, which will be accordingly compensated.

Start date:  Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or his/her candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position:  No

Duties:  Working in the Motor Pool unit of the General Services Office (GSO), the Dispatcher coordinates daily as well as advanced assignments for all drivers to schedule transportation for post personnel and official visitors.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Education:  Completion of Senior Secondary school is required.

Requirements:  

EXPERIENCE:  Two years of professional driving experience in host country, plus one year motor vehicle dispatcher or fleet management experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of host country traffic laws, vehicle licensing, registration, and procedures. Detailed knowledge of host country streets, traffic patterns, and commonly visited locations.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:

English level III (Good working knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.

Setswana level III (Good working knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid Driver’s License is required. Strong leadership, technical, and administrative skills. Basic keyboard skills and skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications. (This may be tested)

Qualifications:  Local prescriptive privileges must be acquired.  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
