Department of Library Services
Director in Library Services (Contract Position) *REF: VACANCY NO. IRC 851 (Re-advertisement)
QUALIFICATION: Applicants should have: (i) at least a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent professional qualification; ii) thorough working knowledge of management of University or equivalent, academic library and information services, and extensive professional experience in academic information services delivery; iii) thorough understanding of university systems as an operational environment, and of the role of an academic library in supporting teaching and research programmes and in providing an interactive learning space; iv) proven track record in the application of digital technologies, academic information services delivery and operating familiarity with emerging trend knowledge management and digital scholarship; v) minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a professionally qualified graduate, three (3) of which should have been at deputy director level, within a university or equivalent. A PhD will be an added advantage
