Job Description

Role Purpose

To lead, direct and oversee the Council’s Ethics and Standards Compliance function to facilitate adherence to established teacher professional standards, regulations and code of conduct through compliance programme administration, ethics and standards monitoring, compliance audits, investigations and disciplinary review processes.

Key Performance Areas

·       Availability and maintenance of Code of Teaching Professional Ethics.

·       Availability and implementation of the Council strategy on Ethics and Standards Compliance.

·       Established policies, procedures and processes on ethics and standards monitoring and compliance management.

·       Teacher adherence to professional teaching regulations and ethical standards.

·       Existence and implementation of a compliance assessment and coverage plan.

·       Efficient and effective compliance audits and inspections.

·       Achievement of strategic goals and targets within set timelines and budgets.

Key Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree and postgraduate degree in Law, Applied and Professional Ethics, Compliance, or related field.

·       At least fifteen (15) years post qualification experience in a legal, compliance or regulatory function. At least five (5) of these years should have been spent in an executive leadership role with responsibility for compliance monitoring, investigations, enforcement, and best practice ethical compliance.
