The key role of the EoR is to support the Mineral Residue Facilities Operational Team in meeting the requirements of the Technical Standard Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management – GISTM) over the life cycle of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• To support the Operational Team in meeting the requirements of the Technical Standard (Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management -GISTM) over the life cycle of the facilities.
• Data analysis and report preparation for SCPTu to the level required for preparation of stability and dam breach reports.
• Reviewing, verifying, and signing all documents issued by the Client and any others related to the design, construction, monitoring and/or operation of the mineral residue deposit(s).
• Understanding and awareness of emergent technologies
• Well -developed networks with subcontractors.
• Demonstrated trach record in working with operational mining, project and supply chain teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical or Hydraulics), Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology or Mining /Metallurgy Engineering with specialty in mining geotechnics and/or mineral residue management and or Water Resources or Hydrology
• Ten (10) years’ experience in similar role in undertaking sufficient roles in design, construction, monitoring and surveillance of tailings facilities.
• The Engineer must have strong geotechnical engineering background with added proficiency in site coordination, data analysis and report preparation for SCPTu to the level required for preparation of stability and dam breach reports.
• Registration with Professional Engineering Institution such as; (ERB – Botswana Engineers Registration Board) and/or equivalent elsewhere.
