Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub (BDIH) Vacancies

Location: Gaborone, Botswana

Contract Type: 3 Years Fixed Term Contract.

Reporting Line: Chief Executive Officer

This role leads initiatives to strengthen data privacy, governance and compliance across the Hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data privacy strategies and policies.
• Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
• Maintain records of data processing activities.
• Conduct risk and impact assessments on data processing activities.
• Investigate data breaches and implement corrective actions.
• Audit data handling practices across departments.
• Deliver training programs on data protection awareness.
• Serve as the point of contact for data protection authorities.
• Prepare reports on data processing and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Data Science, Information Security, Information Management, Risk Management or related field.
• Professional certification in Data Protection or Privacy (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CPDSE) preferred.

Experience

• Minimum five (5) years experience in data governance, information security risk management or compliance.
• Knowledge of Botswana Data Protection Act and GDPR.
• Knowledge of data protection technologies.
