Main Purpose of the Job

The Data Protection Manager (DPM) will be responsible for overseeing Botswana Oil Limited’s data protection strategy and its implementation to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2024 requirements and best practice. The DPM will act as the point of contact for data subjects, regulatory authorities and internal teams. The role will report to the Chief Legal Officer.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Information Security, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years post qualification and 3 years relevant experience (data protection, compliance, or information security).
  • Experience in compliance management, conducting risk assessments, audits, and/or incident response.
  • Proficiency in drafting policies, legal documents, and compliance reports.
