About the Role:
The Data Protection Consultant will support Andersen Tax Botswana in improving and embedding data protection policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Botswana’s data protection legislation. This contracted role is designed to strengthen Andersen’s governance framework while safeguarding client trust and ensuring operational efficiency across all Neighbourhoods.
The contract period is envisaged to comprise a short term two month intensive set up/improvement role
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with improving the design and implementation of Andersen Tax Botswana’s data protection policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Botswana’s Data Protection Act and related regulatory requirements.
- Conduct data protection risk assessments and advise leadership on mitigation strategies.
- Provide guidance and training to A-Teamers on data privacy standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to embed a culture of data protection.
- Assist with enhancing compliance reporting to leadership and regulators on data protection matters.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience in data protection, within a professional services organisation (accounting, legal, tax, or consulting preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Botswana’s data protection legislation.
- Proven ability to assist with Data Protection audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Deliver timely and accurate data protection reporting.
- Ensure Andersen Tax Botswana maintains a reputation for integrity and independence.
- Assist to embed a culture of data protection across all Neighbourhoods.
- Support operational efficiency through proactive data governance.
