Data Processing and AI Lead

To manage Orange Botswana Data Platforms and Applications. Ensure quality, availability and reliability of Data Platforms and mediation solution. To guide a team of Data Engineers on daily operations, routine planned work and standby duties

The main duties include but are not limited to:

• Implement statistical and computer models of data science and AI use cases.
• Ensure the administration of the Data Platforms and Applications.
• Ensure the processing of xDRS and provision of data for Reporting. Ensure the completeness of xDRS on all Orange Botswana mediation applications.
• Ensure the collection and translation of xDRS on all mobile, fixed and internet network equipment.
• Implement labs for data science and AI Uses cases.
• Provide to the company tools to improve profitability.
• Monitor the operation and implementation of mediation applications and their administration.
• Ensure quality, availability and continuity of service.
• Collect, analyse, and interpret large datasets.
• Develop predictive models, machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders using data visualization techniques.
• Collaborate with business to understand their data needs and provide insights. Design and implement data strategies and solutions.
• Improve Fraud and Revenue Assurance use case algorithms.
• Determine innovative statistical models to improve ROI and EBITDA.
• Define and implement Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms.
• Implement visualization tools and technological choice for APIs around AI.
• Ensure the technology watch around ML & DL algorithms and tools.
• Improve customer experience projects and other customer-oriented projects.
• Actively participate in data-driven projects.
• Apply security policy and data protection requirements.
• Help to up skill data scientists, data engineers and data analysts.
• Operate and ensure the development of all Orange Botswana mediation applications.
• Compliance with the QHSE standard.
• Staying updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI.
• Experimenting with new techniques and methodologies to improve data analysis processes.
• Integrating machine learning models into production systems or applications.

Skills:

• Team leadership skill
• Knowledge of one of the Hadoop distributions (Horton Works, Cloudera, MapR).
• Data Architect, Data Scientist.
• Good technical knowledge of database management systems and statistical tools.
• Perfect mastery of traditional BI tools.
• Mastery of software such as pig/hive, HBase, spark, python, R, java.
• Master tools such as: ELK, Zeppelin, Apache NiFi.
• IT Project management.
• Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Analytical mind-set and critical thinking.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Engineering /Data Engineering / Computer Science
• A Masters Degree would be an added advantage
• 5 years of experience in Data Management / Engineering
