Job Description

The Botswana Defence Force is looking forward to employ suitably qualified Non-uniformed Personnel for the following positions:

– POSITION TENABLE AT 2 MILITARY GARRISON FRANCISTOWN

Qualifications: Trade Test C (Plumbing & Pipefitting) or equivalent qualification

Experience: At least two (2) years experience as Craft Improver Al salary scale or similar role.

Salary scale: B4 (P57, 348 – P65.424) per annum.

Leave: 20 working days per annum.

Benefits:

2. Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% while Employee pays 5%).
3. Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P398.80 per month.

Job Purpose: Provides plumbing & pipe-fitting services in the BDF to ensure achievement of the maintenance unit goals.

Job duties and responsibilities:

1. Cut, prepare, fit pipes and joints.
2. Install hoi and cold water supplies, sets, fixes and tests boilers, cylinders and geysers.
3. Repair and maintain domestic plumbing applications including showers.
4. Locate faults in plumbing system and decides on steps to be taken to rectify fault
5. Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and property disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches
6. Shovel materials to and from construction areas.
7. Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
8. Maintain a safe and dean job site by handling materials and storing them property, picking up and removing al tools and equipment when not in use,

and securing the job site on a daily basis.

1. Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment
