About the Role

BOFINET is seeking a highly experienced and independent Chief Internal Audit and Risk to lead its Audit and Risk function.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in internal audit, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management, ensuring the organisation operates with strong controls, compliance, and accountability.

This role is critical in delivering objective assurance to the Board and Audit Committee while strengthening BOFINET’s risk posture and governance frameworks.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or related field (required)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (required)
  • Membership in a recognised professional body (required)
  • Certification in risk management (advantageous)

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in audit, risk, or related field
  • At least 5 years in line management and 2 years at senior management level
  • Proven experience leading internal audit or risk functions within a large organisation

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and lead internal audit, special investigation, inspection, monitoring and evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control, financial management, accounting, administrative and other operational activities of BOFINET
  • Ensure that audit recommendations are implemented by engaging and following up with Departments on the implementation of audit recommendations
  • Responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor BOFINET’s operational and strategic risk
  • Responsible for Insurance and Risk Management and/or Business Continuity Planning activities for BOFINET
  • Develop strategies and plans for the Department, in line with corporate goals
  • Instil a performance-driven culture with clear accountability and empowerment at all levels
