Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Chief Administration Officer I (Occupational Health & Safety) – D3 salary scale tenable at Ministry of Communications and Innovation – Headquarters.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To design and implement health and safety measures for reduction of workplace incidents, injuries and work related ill-health.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Promotes sustainable and decent working conditions.
- Develops and implements OHS policies and programmes.
- Align occupational Health, Safety and Environment with the organizational strategy.
- Provides compensation, rehabilitation and curative services to employees.
- Enhances employees’ physical, mental and social well being through health promotion.
- Educates employees on vital components of safety, health and environment.
- Develops and implements a system of occupational health and safety inspections and audits to help monitor performance.
- Identifies occupational health and hazards and develop risk assessment and incident investigation plan.
- Cultivates a culture of health and safety in the workplace.
- Advises on the maintenance and improvement of safe systems of work.
- Analysisesoccupational accidentsand diseases and make appropriate recommendations.
- Provides guidance on occupational health, safety, hygiene and on ergonomics and protective equipments.
- Develops programmes aimed at rehabiliatation and re- intergration of employees.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety.
EXPERIENCE: At least Eight (8) years’ experience in the field of occupational health services two (2) of which should have been served at Chief Administration Officer II (Occupational Health & Safety) at D4 salary scale or equivalent.
SALARY SCALE: D3 (P293, 652 – P323, 748) per annum
LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum
