Job Description
Duties
Operates a passenger motor vehicle (unarmored and armored) and or light truck in accordance with the Detachment Commanders instructions to transport Marine Security Guards, official visitors and guests within the city and surrounding areas.
Performs shift work and may be required to work odd hours, including local and U.S. holidays. Maintains vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition, to include cleaning the interior and exterior of the vehicle. Performs basic vehicle inspection in accordance with established schedules and policies. Reports major vehicle faults for repairs.
Prepares trip reports, vehicle use and fuel logs. Estimates fuel consumption for trips. Safeguards U.S. Government property and uses U.S. Government resources efficiently, including the fuel-efficient operation of vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EVALUATIONS
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Four years of professional driving experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must have good working knowledge of the city and its environs, including driving routes and traffic patterns. Must know locations of major street’s, hospitals, police and fire stations within the city and its immediate surroundings.
Education Requirements:
Completion of Senior Secondary School is required.
Evaluations:
Post may choose to add the phrase “This may be tested” after a language, skill, and/or ability. Review the VA template for specific information.
LANGUAGE:
English Level II (Limited Knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
Setswana Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a valid Class B driver’s license to drive an armored and unarmored vehicle and or light truck. The job holder must have held a driver’s license for at least five years. Must have the ability to read maps and plan driving routes. Good verbal communication skills and ability to handle all persons with professionalism and discretion. Must be able to perform basic vehicle inspection and automotive maintenance skills. Must have basic computer skills to maintain reports and for communication purposes (MS Outlook).
