CAMP MANAGEMENT OFFICER
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
Your role will be to oversee all aspects of camp services in the Mine Camp Residential area, including proper housing allocation according to guidelines. Responsibilities include inspecting properties, managing cleanliness and quality of service in the canteen and residential areas, maintaining good relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring accurate reporting and record-keeping.

MAJOR DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:

•Liaising with the Service provider Accommodation Manager to coordinate the efficient management of staff accommodation bookings across all camps and managing an efficient and effective administration process for all contract requirements
•Managing company accommodation and allocating accommodation in line with Company Policy and Procedure.
•Ensuring that all employees, contractors and visitors have appropriate accommodation and adequate facilities.
•Careful and close monitoring and managing of Man days in all the sites and ensuring anomalies are resolved.
•Coordinating the general upkeep of the campgrounds, maintenance of the accommodation and camp infrastructure by following up on the correction of any identified and reported problem areas.
•Monitoring and ensuring that contractors responsible for housekeeping and catering comply with the Company’s Health and Safety standards such as pre-employment. annual medicals and food handlers’ medicals examination.
•Identifying and ensuring that all non- compliances are reported to the manager.
•The compilation, management and tracking of the camp management budget
•Keeping abreast of latest developments in the field of specialisation and recommending initiatives that lead to process improvement
•Reviewing systems to identify causes of bottlenecks, and developing proposals on process improvement, and submitting to the relevant Manager for consideration and approval
•Ensuring that preparation and coordination of all events are implemented accordingly
•Liaising with camp contractors and other stakeholders to establish upcoming events
•Ensuring that all customers, employees, and visitors are assisted appropriately and timeously.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

•Degree in Hospitality/ Business Administration/Estates Management. – A minimum of 6 years post qualification in property management and maintenance
•Diploma/ in Hospitality/ Business Administration/Estates Management – A minimum of 12 years post qualification in property management and maintenance
•Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with camp management software is advantageous.
•Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards is desirable.
•Contractor management skills.
•Cost Control
•Experience managing a hostel, lodging facilities.
•Records Management
•Negotiation Skills
•Experience in camp management or hospitality operations, in a mining or remote location setting is an added advantage.
