Profile
The incumbent ensures a standardised and up-to-date data warehouse, manages and optimises all ETL processes, analyses complex data and drives related business enhancement projects – ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects This role is responsible for ensuring good governance, risk management and compliance and will represent Business Intelligence on various forums. The Business Intelligence Manager facilitates the conversion of knowledge and ideas into new or improved products for the Business Intelligence environment and leads and develops a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and support staff through the transformation.
- Support management activities that promote a culture of innovation.
- Align governance, compliance, integrity and ethics policies in own practice area to identify and manage risk exposure liability.
- Manages risks in own area of responsibility.
- Data management governance framework
- Data management strategy.
- Manages, motivates and empowers team members to optimise their strengths, performance, growth and talent to achieve business analytic goals to assist strategic decision making.
- Supports and develops individual and team contributions.
- Delegates work with the right level of accountability.
- Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development.
- Conduct on the job training, coaching and mentoring to direct reports to ensure development of team and improvement of overall service delivery.
- Design, monitor and ensure the successful implementation of wellness programmes to drive employee wellness and welfare initiatives.
Financial
- Monitors organisational key financial drivers in collaboration with Finance
- Prepares and manages budgets.
- Monitors the budget for the department.
- Identifies and deploys cost management strategies
- Ensures expenditure within allocated budget.
- Deploys Cost Management initiatives.
- Development and monitoring of budget for own area of business.
- Cost management/control initiatives.
Resources & Assets
- Manage Business intelligence resources.
- Collaborate with business analysts across the organisation.
Human
- Mentors and Supports team members.
- Supports/partners  departments in their development and execution their business analysis requirements/needs.
- Use negotiation and conflict resolution skills to maintain a conducive environment for team to perform optimally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and other data analysis tools.
- Superior proficiency in statistical techniques and modeling.
ExperienceÂ
- 5 – 8 years experience in a similar environment, of which 3 – 4 years must be at management level.
