BOILER MECHANIC/MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
TECHNICIAN
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the maintenance and overhaul of boilers, compressors, and the humidification plant and utility services. He will be responsible for devising training programs for the trainees (understudy) and the boiler operators to ensure maximum plant availability and utilization.
Responsible for:
⦁ As a Boiler mechanic, must be well-versed in the operation of boilers and other related equipment. He also needs to know how to identify problems with these systems and determine the best course of action to take to resolve them
⦁ Inspecting boilers and boiler systems for signs of damage or wear, making repairs when necessary
⦁ Inspecting equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and safely, including pumps, piping systems, valves, gauges, pressure relief devices, steam traps, and control panels
⦁ Maintaining and repairing boilers, including replacing parts and performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning combustion chambers and flues
⦁ Performing inspections on boilers and steam systems to ensure that they are operating safely and efficiently
⦁ Installing, repairing, and maintaining boilers, steam turbines, and other heating systems used in industrial processes
⦁ Performing preventative maintenance on boilers and their components to avoid problems before they occur
⦁ Maintaining records of work performed on boilers and other equipment, including time spent working on each task, materials used, and any problems encountered during the process.
Job Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering with good knowledge of planned maintenance and Spares and experience in Steam boilers, Compressors, and Pumps.
Should have at least 10 years of working experience in Mechanical Engineering and a certified certificate in the use of hydraulic and other types of lifting equipment will be an added advantage.
