VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 4 OF 2023
The Ministry of Defence and Security invites applications from talented, decisive, self-driven and qualified citizens of Botswana to fill the vacant position of ASSISTANT MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION in the Ministry Headquarters.
SALARY SCALE: D2 (P320.952 – P353.928) per annum.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To coordinate human resource functions of recruitment and selection, training and development, employee relations and other human resource management issues.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
1. Provide advice and guidance on interpretation of human resource management policies to customers.
2. Attends to customer enquiries and queries.
3. Facilitate recruitment related processes.
4. Attend to staff welfare issues.
5. Resolves staff gnevances.
6. Administers disciplinary cases.
7. Supervises training and development functions.
8. Monitor compliance to human resource management policies.
9. Prepare manpower estimates /requirements.
10. Prepare procurement plan.
11. Monitors human resources votes ledger.
12. Supervises and manages performance of supervisees.

QUALIFIED APPLICANT’S PROFILE

To be considered for appointment to this position, candidates must have at least Degree in Human Resource Management or Public Administration or Industrial Relations or Strategy Management or Business Administration.
Applicants should have a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, two (2) of which should have been served as Chief Administration Officer I (D3) salary scale in Government or equivalent level in the Private Sector.
