Applications arc invited from suitably qualified citizens of Botswana for the below position in the National AIDS and Health Promotion Agency (NAHPA).
ASSISTANT FINANCE OFFICER (GLOBAL FUND PROJECT) – D2 12 months’ contract

Qualification:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. Accounting or equivalent. Membership of one of the followingAssociation of Chartered Accountant (CA). Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACC A). Chartered institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or any of the recognized accounting professional qualifications will be an added advantage.

Experience:

At least 10 years post qualification of relevant experience, of which two should have been served at D3 salary scale or equivalent. Experience in donor funded project implementation will be an added advantage.

Salary: D2 (320.952 – P353.928 per annum)

Benefits: Gratuity at 30% of basic salary and 30 leave days per year.
Optional contributory medical aid Scheme (employer pays 50% and employee pays 50%)

Main Purpose of the Job:

The responsibility of the Assistant Finance Officer is to assist in managing Global Fund TB/HIV grant funds, facilitating disbursements, reconciliations and tracking expenditures and reporting on grant finances.

Main responsibilities:
• Prepares regular disbursement requests for grant activities
• Prepares timely disbursement of grant funds to Sub Recipients (SRs) and Implementing Partners (IPs).
• Conduct monthly reconciliations between grant budget and available funds from ministry of Finance and economic Development (MFED).
• Prepare grant financial reports and maintain up to date filing system for all financial transactions for the grant.
• Assis in annual audits of the Principal Recipient (PR) and the SRs
• Ensure that the financial expenditures are in line with the approved budgets and plans of the grant
• Support Districts.SRs and IPs in proper management of the grant funds and reporting
• Guide SRs in preparation of financial reports as required by the PR and the global fund
• Assist in identification of financial management capacity gaps among SRs and facilitate remedial action to address the gaps
• Assist in training of SRs in proper financial management of grant funds
• Facilitate reimbursement of the Global fund resources for VAT paid on grant activities
• Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
