Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis courts, squash court, swimming pool and golf course. There is also an excellent English medium pre-primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

ARTISAN RIGGER
Job Summary
To provide Rigging and Scaffold services to breakdowns and maintenance of mechanical equipment for the Plant and to fulfill mechanical standby and shutdown requirements by:
• Performing statutory inspections and load tests on all rigging and lifting equipment.
• Maintaining records and registers of such equipment.
• Erecting & supervising erection and dismantling of scaffolding to the required Safety Standard.
• Driving cranes and trucks as and when required.
• Safely carrying out the day to day rigging services to plant and workshops.
• Implementing and adhering to the Botash SHE system in their area of responsibility.
Requirements
• “O” levels or equivalent, plus recognised 4 years Trade Apprenticeship (NCC) in Rigging.
• 5 years post qualification experience preferably in a heavy industrial plant environment.
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System e.g. DMS 2000. Syspro, BOAS would be an added advantage.
• Valid Driver’s License.
