Purpose of the Role
To collect geoscience field and laboratory test work data and ensure its availability for analysis and interpretation
Key Job Responsibilities
- Collects and processes samples from various mineral resources management sections in accordance with set MRM standards and procedures.
- Conducts laboratory test works in accordance with set MRM standards such as Point load tests for rock strength tests and captures data in hard copies and electronic databases
- Processes and provides first line interpretation of geoscience field data and reports results according to set standards and guidelines
- Performs basic maintenance of equipment by nspecting, cleaning and carrying out minor repairs, Calibrating specific equipment in line with specifications, Keeping inventory and initiating replenishments of equipment, consumables and critical spares
Other Job Responsibilities
- Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budgets
- Adheres to all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility
Education
- Certificate in Geoscience Field Techniques
Experience
2 years in field based geoscience or mining environment
