Job Description
AECI Botswana (Pty) Ltd, an explosives and specialty chemicals company focused on providing products and services to a broad spectrum of customers in mining, manufacturing and agricultural sectors, has the following vacancies at their various operations:
- ACCOUNT MANAGER
Core Responsibilities
- Provide effective and efficient support to the sites
- Proactively manage stakeholder relations and liaise and build good relations with customers
- Oversee the management of budgets or planned targets and drive their achievement
- Oversee the management of the client contracts
- Ensure asset optimization and oversee the maintenance function for the sites
- Oversee the Production, SHE, Quality and Technical Departments for the sites
- Lead and drive compliance to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards
- Implement and enforce compliance with governance, policies and procedures
- Overall cost management to achieve budget.
- Manage and facilitate change management for the sites
- Oversee management of capital projects and new projects
- Continuously investigate opportunities for business improvement.
- Oversee people management and development for the sites
- Drive implementation of Company Values.
- To drive enforcement of the Company’s operating standards
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Requirements
The incumbent should have at least the following:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Mining-related discipline
- At least ten (10) years’ experience in an open pit or underground mining industry, at least five (5) of which were at management level
- Business qualification (B-com/MBA) or Management Development Programme is an added advantage
- Knowledge of AECI open pit and underground products and blasting systems
- Knowledge of explosives markets
- Be in possession of a valid driver’s License
- Have computer skills
- Be in possession of a valid Open Pit and/or Underground Blasting Licence
- Presentation and report writing skills
- Be in possession of the Explosives Engineer’s Certificate
- Must be fluent in English
- Good understanding of the Explosives Act and, the Mines, Works, Quarries and Machinery Act (MQWM) and other relevant legislative requirements
