Job Description

A reliable, organised, and service-oriented candidate is sought by our client in the Telecommunications sector to join their team as a Driver/Messenger. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support, transporting staff and company items as required, making deliveries and collections, and ensuring the safe and timely movement of personnel and goods.

Responsibilities & Competencies

• Conducting regular inspections of the assigned vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Checking tire pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and other essential components.
• Efficiently planning and determining the best routes to reach destinations.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to driving activities (mileage logs, fuel consumption, vehicle maintenance reports, and any incident or accident reports as required by the company or regulatory authorities).
• Interacting with customers, clients, or other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
• Providing transfer services by collecting and transporting company staff, delegates, and other authorised visitors to and from the airport or authorized places as required.
• Adhering to all applicable safety regulations and company policies while driving.
• Managing time effectively to ensure timely arrivals and pickups according to scheduled appointments or delivery deadlines.
• Providing regular updates to the company regarding completed tasks, delays, or any issues encountered during the driving assignments.
• Ensuring the security of the company vehicle and cargo.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license – Class C/C1
• PrDP-H (Hazardous) and PrDP-G (Goods) permits
• Truck Mounted Crane Operating experience and certification will be an added advantage
• One year experience in a related role
• Good communication skills
• Excellent Customer Service

Employment Details

Contract – 12 months
