Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, commercially focused and highly analytical Head of Accounting to lead the accounting function across the group. The role will ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting for all group companies. This is an exciting time to join a growing group that is actively pursuing new opportunities. The successful candidate will provide strong technical accounting leadership and strengthen financial controls. They will oversee month-end and year-end reporting for the group. They will also support management with reliable financial and costing information for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting function across the group and its subsidiaries.
  • Develop, implement and maintain accounting systems, policies and procedures.
  • Prepare consolidated group financial statements in line with IFRS.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts, and track actual against budget.
  • Oversee product costing, cost control and inventory valuation.
  • Prepare detailed management reports to support decision-making.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and manage financial risk.
  • Oversee tax compliance, including VAT and corporate tax with BURS.
  • Manage the annual external audit, including preparing financial statements, resolving auditor queries and meeting deadlines.
  • Support the finance function through the group’s growth plans, including new projects and corporate transactions.
  • Lead, train and supervise the accounts team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance / Cost Accounting.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • BICA Associate or Fellow Member.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in audit and accounting, including 2-5 years at manager level.
  • Big Four audit experience is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, including group consolidation.
  • Sound knowledge of both financial accounting and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, Syspro, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
