We seek outstanding paediatrician/family medicine physician/physician candidates who want to be leaders in adolescent health in Botswana. The accepted applicant will join the educationally rich and exciting 3-year, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, David N. Pincus Fellowship in paediatric global health. The three-year training program is designed to provide adolescent focused clinical service, teaching, and medical education/research scholarship primarily based in Botswana. Attaining these skills will position the Pincus Global Health Fellow to become a leader in the field of adolescent global health. Adolescent medicine is a specialty that focuses on the overall health and well-being of adolescents and young adults keeping their development at the centre of our work. The Fellow’s training experiences are focused on both in- and out-patient care of adolescents and young adults. A key component of the fellowship is medical education with curriculum planning and delivery and development of training as central. This includes teaching students, fellows, and residents as well as developing a sub-specialty training program.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervised clinical consultations seeing patients age 11 to 26 years
- If paediatrics trained, supervised paediatric gynaecology consultations
- Teach in topics of adolescent and young adult health and well-being
- Co-create curriculum for adolescent health training for residents and future fellowship
- Develop expertise in medical education
- Develop research expertise with option to do online master’s degree
- Develop leadership and advocacy skills related to adolescent health
Requirements
- Must have completed a paediatric, internal medicine or family medicine residency
- Have a passion for adolescents
- Must hold a license to practice medicine in Botswana under your primary specialty
- Botswana citizens will be given priority but all relevant specialists may apply
