Organization: Botswana Teachers Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (BTSACCOS)

Botswana Teachers Savings and Credit Cooperative Society invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following positions, tenable in Gaborone.


   –  Accounts Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, filing documents for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Member Savings Ledgers: Update and reconcile members’ savings ledgers.
  • Petty Cash Management: Handle petty cash requests and reconcile petty cash accounts regularly.
  • Promote Co-operative Philosophy with members.
  • Tax Returns: Assist in preparing PAYE returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • General Administrative Duties: Perform finance-related administrative tasks including answering finance queries, managing correspondence, and supporting the wider finance team.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Accounting, Business Studies or Association of Accounting Technician Level 4 (AAT).
  • Training in Savings and Credit Co-operative Management will be an added advantage.
  • At least three (3) years post-qualification experience in an equivalent position.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Time management.
