Job Description
Contract: 3 Years Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Gaborone, Botswana
Main Purpose of the Job
To drive the development, execution and reporting of the institution’s Strategic Plan by ensuring alignment of strategic objectives with operations, managing and monitoring projects, analysing institutional performance data, and coordinating the prioritisation of strategic initiatives.
Key Performance Areas
- Participate in the development and periodic review of the institution’s strategic and operational plans and facilitate departmental alignment sessions and strategy cascading.
- Plan and execute strategic projects from initiation to completion.
- Monitor progress of strategic initiatives and prepare reports aligned with the institution’s strategic objectives.
- Map, analyse and recommend improvements to business processes to enhance efficiency, quality and service delivery.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards to monitor progress of strategic KPIs.
- Conduct environmental scanning (PESTLE, SWOT and competitor analysis) to support decision-making and provide insights on emerging trends, innovations and risks.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders for data gathering, collaboration and feedback.
- Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks and internal controls.
- Support change management and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Prepare reports highlighting trends, progress and recommendations for management.
- Support risk identification and mitigation planning for strategic initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) or a related field.
- Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2 or PMP).
- At least 5 years’ work experience in Analytics, Project Management and/or Business Performance.
- Experience with reporting tools, programming languages, dashboards or performance monitoring frameworks.
- Experience in the higher education sector will be an added advantage.
