Regulatory Inspections Trainee (2 Positions) – 24 Months

Job Purpose

The Regulatory Inspections Trainee is responsible for supporting the inspection and assessment of pharmaceutical and related establishments to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP), and applicable regulatory requirements.

The trainee will assist in licensing activities and the regulatory oversight of imports and exports of medicines, medical devices, cosmetics, and related substances while gaining practical experience in the application of regulatory frameworks, documentation review, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.

Job Responsibilities

Inspection Activities
  • Inspect local pharmaceutical premises where medicines and related substances are stored, used, handled, dispensed, or sold.
  • Perform consignment verification checks for imports and exports of medicines, medical devices, cosmetics, and related substances.
Licensing Activities
  • Conduct verification checks on permits issued for importation and exportation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date licensing records.
Enforcement and Compliance
  • Follow up on complaints and reports related to inspection and licensing activities.
  • Support enforcement activities requiring input from the Inspections and Licensing Unit.
Reporting and Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate inspection, licensing, and permit records.
  • Provide customer service in line with established service charters and performance standards.
Other Duties
  • Participate in field-based inspections requiring travel within the country.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities assigned in line with BoMRA’s mandate.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Health, or a related health/science field.
  • Recent graduates with no prior work experience may apply.
  • Demonstrated interest in regulatory affairs, public health, or medicines regulation through academic coursework, dissertation focus, or prior work/voluntary experience.
