Botswana Savings Bank (BSB) is embarking on one of the most significant transformation journeys in its history. As the Bank evolves into a commercially competitive, technology-enabled, customer-centric and financially sustainable institution, we are seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead this complex and ambitious change agenda.
You will be responsible for shaping the future direction of the Bank and leading a far-reaching organisational transformation that touches every  aspect of the business. This role requires a leader who can successfully navigate complexity,  challenge entrenched ways of working, drive cultural and operational change, and build an organisation that is fit for purpose in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to the Bank, champion digital transformation, strengthen commercial performance, enhance customer experience, and build a high performance culture capable of delivering sustainable results. They will lead the execution of the Bank’s strategic agenda, strengthen governance and risk management frameworks, and inspire confidence among employees, customers, regulators, shareholders and other stakeholders.
BSB is seeking a leader with a proven track record of successfully leading complex transformation programmes, translating vision into action, and delivering measurable results. The ideal candidate will possess the courage to make difficult decisions, the resilience to navigate uncertainty, and the ability to unite people behind a compelling vision for the future.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, Accounting, Strategic Management or a related discipline.
  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, Accounting, Strategic Management or related field will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience within the banking or broader financial services sector, of which at least seven (7) years must have been gained at executive or senior management level.
  • Professional banking, finance or leadership qualifications will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership & Transformation: Lead the Bank’s overall strategy and transformation into a commercially competitive, customer-centric, and technology-enabled financial institution.
  • Financial Performance & Business Growth: Drive profitability, revenue growth, capital optimisation, balance sheet performance, and sustainable business expansion.
  • Governance, Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure sound corporate governance, effective risk management, and full compliance with banking regulations and prudential standards.
  • Digital Transformation & Innovation: Champion digital banking initiatives, system modernisation, customer channel enhancement, and technology-driven innovation.
  • Stakeholder & Organisational Leadership: Represent the bank in the industry, build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, shareholders, investors, government, and strategic partners while strengthening the Bank’s reputation and visibility within the financial services sector and broader business community
  • Customer Experience & Market Growth: Drive customer satisfaction, financial inclusion, market growth, and innovative banking solutions.
  • People Leadership & Culture:  Build a high-performance culture through talent development, employee engagement, and leadership excellence.
  • Brand & Reputation Management: Strengthen the Bank’s brand, market position, and corporate reputation through strategic stakeholder engagement.
  • ESG & Sustainability: Embed sustainable and responsible banking practices across strategy, operations, and decision-making.
  • Performance & Operational Excellence: Drive accountability, monitor performance, and continuously improve organisational effectiveness and service delivery.
