Job Description

The Botswana International University of Science & Technology, or BIUST, is an international university located in the town of Palapye, Botswana. It i The University is looking for qualified and experienced individuals for the below-stated positions. The positions are based at the BIUST Campus, Palapye.

To teach, educate and supervise undergraduate and graduate students in an academic discipline and to build the knowledge base of the discipline through research and publication. To administer teaching activities within Water Resources Sciences, with demonstrable teaching experience in Environmental Impact Assesment, and provide leadership at the module course. To establish a national reputation in the field of Water Resources Science and Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for teaching and supervision of students
  • Should be able to conduct research and publish the findings in indexed journals recommended by the university.
  • Should be able to perform professional and consultation services and other services for the university.
  • Be able to engage in community service.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Water Resource Sciences.
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
  • A minimum of two (2) years post-doctoral experience in teaching and research at a tertiary institution of comparable standard. However, two years post-doctoral relevant industrial/professional experience shall be equivalent to one year teaching experience.
  • Proven research profile and consistent publication record with at least eight (8) peer reviewed reputable publications in either scopus or web of science indexed journals, commensurate with appointment to the rank of Senior Lecturer.
  • Proven record of supervision of Post graduate students.
  • Should have the skills of coaching and mentoring students.
  • Should be able to communicate well orally and in writing.
  • Should possess the skill of time management and be self-motivated.
  • Be a team player and also be able to work independently.
  • Good of their academic discipline environment
  • Ability to facilitate student learning.
