C & I Technician – Lucara Diamond Corporation

Job Description

Lucara Botswana is seeking a C & I Technician to plan and carry out diagnostics and repairs on surface and underground control systems and circuits to optimize performance and minimize downtime.

Lucara Botswana is the operational entity responsible for Lucara Diamond Corp.’s diamond mining activities within Botswana.

Reporting to the C & I Foreman, the C & I Technician is responsible for planning and carrying out diagnostics and repairs on surface and underground control systems and circuits to optimize performance and minimize downtime. The role also ensures the effective and efficient installation and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities

Condition monitoring and reliability centered maintenance
Installs and maintain equipment used for monitoring and controlling engineering systems, machinery and processes.
Maintenance and troubleshooting
Equipment inspections and compliance
Safety, health and environmental compliance

Requirements

Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience in a mining environment, preferably underground mining and construction.
Technical report writing and Troubleshooting skills
Advanced computer skills and relevant computerized maintenance management systems
Conceptual and analytical skills for root cause analysis.
Knowledge of PLC/SCADA system and industrial networks
Membership to a recognized professional body for technicians
Valid Class B Driver’s License
