Job Description
The Research Analyst performs mineral market research and analysis, provides trends and insights to support strategic decision-making and recommendations for investment originations and strategic input for asset portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct strategic mineral market research and analysis (commodity trends, supply-demand, price movements)
- Develop market intelligence reports and forecasts on the mining and minerals sector
- Monitor mining and minerals investment opportunities and define success metrics
- Support due diligence and strategic investment decisions through data-driven reporting
- Keep abreast of advancements in mining and minerals research, innovation, and processes
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of mineral market analysis and reports
- Assist in establishing and tracking risk items of potential investments and assets
- Review and validate data-driven analysis to identify risks, threats, and opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Data Science, or related fields
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- At least 2 years of experience within the mining and investment industry
- Advanced research and data analysis skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Technical report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
