Mitchell Drilling Botswana (MDB) is a diverse drilling services company dedicated to safe, efficient, and innovative drilling program delivery for mining projects. Mitchell Drilling Botswana is urgently seeking a qualified COUNTRY MAINTENANCE MANAGER to provide technical support services for projects with our subsidiary, Simolola Drilling Services across Botswana. It is run by seasoned Drilling Engineers, Drill Rig Operators, Geologists, Drill Rig Equipment Mechanics, Drill Safety Coordinators with extensive experience in management of drill contracts.
In order to meet its contractual obligations and to provide efficient and innovative Drilling services in Botswana. We are currently seeking a COUNTRY MAINTENANCE MANAGER to join our team in Botswana.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and establish the operations base for drilling equipment maintenance.
- Implement repairs and preventative maintenance for all drills and related equipment.
- Oversee the design and implementation of maintenance strategies for drilling equipment.
- Supervise the implementation of quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) business systems.
- Manage the day-to day operations of the site workshop, ensuring both equipment and personnel are available.
- Collaborate with drill rig operators, project managers, stores, and field operations to deliver top-quality service.
- Advise management on maintenance processes, procedures, and acquisition recommendations.
- Manage communication with equipment suppliers for technical support and required improvements.
Experience & Competency Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in maintenance and 5 years as an industrial machinist.
- Strong experience working with drill rigs such as RCC Sandvik UDR 1500, Sandvik UDR 710, and Hydromec Backhoe.
- Experience in pumps and valves for drill rigs.
- Competent in applying LEAN methodologies to improve quality and efficiency.
- Knowledge in maintenance and asset forecasting for drilling operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Hydraulics Maintenance Certificate.
- Fitter and Turner Certificate.
- Risk Assessments Certificate.
- Proven track record with extensive exposure to drilling machinery and drilling environments.
