Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF) is a defined contribution pension fund for public officers established in 2001. The Fund has experienced above average growth since inception and currently has approximately 165,000 members. BPOPF would like to invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position below

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To undertake research and provide advice to the Investment Manager on the performance of investment portfolio and the performance of local and foreign financial markets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and qualifications:

Degree in Investment, Finance or Business or any relevant degree.

Experience required:

5 years experience in Investment or Portfolio Management or Retirement Funds Industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Investment Monitoring: Knowledge of monitoring of investment portfolios, investment asset classes and investment products.
  • Portfolio Performance calculating and reporting
  • Strong Analytical, Research, report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of the retirement services industry, domestic and international capital markets

  1. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provides required research and reporting on portfolio performance to relevant stakeholders, in particular, to the Investment Manager and Chief Investments Officer.
  • Assists in preparation of reports on portfolio performance to relevant stakeholders.
  • Regularly trade and rebalance portfolios
  • Monitors exposure to ensure that our investments are within the allowable deviations from the strategic allocations.
  • Undertakes other duties as directed by his/her immediate supervisor and/or any other relevant authority in support of BPOPF’s mandate.
