RED EAST CONSTRUCTION is looking for the following Water supply and drainage engineers
Job Summary:
The Water Supply and Drainage Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the installation, maintenance, and optimization of water supply and drainage systems. This includes water distribution networks, wastewater collection and treatment facilities, storm water management infrastructure, and related components. The engineer will work to ensure these systems function efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assess site conditions, evaluate project requirements, and develop comprehensive water supply and drainage system designs
– Perform hydraulic and hydrological calculations to size and specify pipes, pumps, valves, storage tanks, treatment equipment, and other system components
– Collaborate with construction teams to oversee the installation and startup of new water/drainage infrastructure
– Inspect and monitor the performance of existing systems, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions
– Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project plans to support system upgrades, expansions, or replacement
– Ensure all water supply and drainage systems meet local, state, and federal regulations for water quality, environmental protection, and public health
– Provide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance staff
– Research and evaluate new technologies, materials, and methods to improve the efficiency and sustainability of water systems
Required Skills and Experience:
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering
– Professional Engineering (P.E.) certification
– 5+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater system design and project management
– Proficiency in hydraulic modeling, water quality analysis, and 3D design software
– Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
– Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry best practices
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
