THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN BOTSWANA

The United Methodist Church in Botswana, a part of the global United Methodist Church under Zimbabwe West Annual Conference (ZWAC), is a main line church and full member of the Botswana Council of Churches in Botswana. The church has branches in Gaborone, Francistown, Maun, Otse Lobatse, Selebi-Phikwe. A vacancy has arisen within the Parish, and we wish to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy as follows:

PASTOR IN CHARGE

The position is tenable in Francistown with regular scheduled visits in other parish centres in The Botswana Parish Region.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To advance the mission of the church in bringing souls to Christ by preaching the gospel
  • To oversee the spiritual leadership of the church and provide guidance to the congregation.
  • To assist in the coordination and running of parish Centre in collaboration with the Parish council of the church
  • To provide mentorship to the church congregants
  • To provide guidance and counselling as and when required to church congregants.
  • To lead in the church’s outreach services to the community by doing good service.

EXPERIENCE

  • Candidate MUST be a holder of at least a Diploma in Theology, a further qualification in Religious Studies or similar would be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Pastor in Charge of a circuit.
  • Understanding of the United Methodist Church policy and doctrine.
