Head of Insurance

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting directly to the Managing Director to direct and coordinate all sales functions and develop appropriate corporate sales strategies. The individual would ensure that focused, dynamic plans to recruit, and retain customers in the key market segments (corporate, retail, and captive markets) are developed and implemented to the satisfaction of the board, and the executive management.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

⦁ Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and standards.
⦁ Provision of good insurance marketing strategies
⦁ Delivery of strong corporate image and product innovation strategies
⦁ Delivery of CIB corporate strategy
⦁ Provision of insurance marketing strategies.
⦁ Efficient and effective processes and systems
⦁ Promotion of efficient stakeholder relations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:
A degree in Finance, insurance, or post-graduate training in insurance or a related discipline.
A master’s degree in a related field would be an added advantage.

Experience:
At least 7 years’ post-qualification experience in the insurance field, three of which should have been at an executive management level.

Knowledge and Skills
⦁ Must have a solid understanding of insurance products.
⦁ Must have a good understanding of the corporate and retail markets.
⦁ Must be results oriented.
⦁ Must have excellent leadership skills.
⦁ Should have an excellent presentation skill.
⦁ Should be an excellent team builder and team player.
⦁ Should be decisive.
⦁ Should be proficient in Information Communications Technologies
