VACANCY:

TEMPORARY MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Cl)
The Administration of Justice (AOJ) seeks the services of talented, self-driven, experienced, and highly motivated citizens of Botswana to fill a temporary position of Mechanical Engineer tenable at the High Court. Gaborone Division.

SALARY SCALE:CI (P 166 344.00 – PI 74 672.00.00) \ per annum.

LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Degree in \ Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years experience | as Mechanical Engineer II or equivalent.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To carry out designs \ and implementation of small and medium mechanical works.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Provision of Financial Advice
⦁ Updates clients on project progress and expenditure. \
⦁ Attends technical queries and complains from clients \ and resolves them where possible.

2. Maintain services
• Attends to faults and or breakdown services and
■ provides necessary instructions.

3. Project Implementation and Construction Management
⦁ Supervises, inspects, tests and commissions small and \ medium mechanical works.
⦁ Carries out site visits periodically.
⦁ Prepares operation and maintenance schedules and monitors its implementation.
⦁ Examines consultant’s reports, project memorandum \ and tender documents and report to Senior :
Engineers.

4. Design and Construction of Mechanical Engineering Works.
⦁ Prepares simple drawings and schematics for new works.
⦁ Allocates duties and oversees junior officers on work.

5. Budget Management
⦁ Controls finance of the project on matters relating to mechanical aspects.
⦁ Queries and resolves discrepancies and recommend accounts for payments.
⦁ Supervises projects and provides necessary cost implications.

6. Self Development
• Benchmarks for best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.

7. Staff Development
⦁ Provides technical guidance to junior officers on engineering design/ installation matters.
⦁ Provides on-the-job training to technicians on the theory and operations of plant/equipment and explains flow and schematic diagram
