Network & IT Security Specialist – Botswana Stock Exchange

The Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) is one of the leading stock exchanges in Southern Africa and plays an increasingly important role in the country’s economic development. The BSE wishes to recruit a dynamic Network & IT Security Specialist to join the Information & technology Department.

Reporting to the Head of Information and Technology, the Network & IT Security Specialist shall assist with planning, designing and implementation of network systems and security, in addition to ensuring the optimum performance of the network systems of the BSE and CSDB as follows:
a. Lead the implementation of the BSE cybersecurity strategy in line with the cybersecurity framework.
b. Implement mitigation measures to networking and cybersecurity risks in the BSE risk register.
c. Install and configure computer softwares, operating systems and applications.
d. Monitor and proactively maintain computer systems and networks and evaluate connectivity issues.
e. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve network problems.
f. Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance of both the hardware and the software.
g. Ensure completion of allocated tasks whether done internally or outsourced to third parties.
h. Setting up of new users’ accounts, profiles and allocate new passwords and resolve issues related to all those activities.
i Test and evaluate both current and new technology and make the necessary recommendations.
j. Maintain hardware and software documentations and registers.
k. Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
l. Ensure security and privacy of the Exchange networks and computer systems.
m. Install and Update, test and monitor servers, firewalls and perform data backup.
n. Provide helpdesk support for network issues and technical support.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should have a Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with specialisation in the design, implementation and support of data networks.

JOB EXPERIENCE
The candidate should have at least five (5) years of working experience as a Network Administrator.
