Our Solar Power Initiative
Proud pioneers of renewable energy within the diamond industry. The first diamond manufacturing company to implement solar power in Botswana.
The purpose behind WDM-B’s solar system investment is twofold. Not only is it a way to advance the company’s long standing goal of becoming a carbon-neutral entity, but it also allows for the mitigation of the operation’s growing utility expenses. Designed and installed by Sustainable Energy Botswana (SEB), the system has is capable of returning around 80% of monthly power consumption.
We are proud to be the first diamond manufacturing company to implement a solar system in Botswana, and to set the benchmark for sustainable energy use within the diamond industry.
We polish diamonds from 0.30 carats up to all sizes, both from rough to polished and from polished to recut or repair. We also handle exceptional boxes which can reach up to rough of 25 cts, and we prepare rough for others to cut and polish.
We do customized rough and polished sorting as per our clients’ requirements.
We assist our clients in setting up operations and managing those operations for them. WDM-B professionals also assist clients in rough assessments and valuations on tenders, auctions and private sales.
We prepare and deliver tailor made training programs for the diamond industry as per the requirements of our clients.
