The Botswana Defence Force is looking forward to employing suitably qualified Non-Uniformed Personnel for the following positions:
5. BIO-MEDICAL TECHNICIAN C4/3 X1 – TENABLE AT EASTERN MILITARY GARRISON Qualifications: Experience: Salary scale: Leave: Certification: Benefits:
Diploma in Medical Engineering Science Direct Entry. No experience required C4/3 (P98,352– P136,812)
25 working days per annum
Must be registered with Botswana Health Professions Council
Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% while Employee pays 50%)
Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% while Employee pays 5%)
Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P366.70 per month for the C4 salary scale and P309.00 per month for C3 salary scale
Scarce Skill Allowance of 20% of the basic monthly salary
Job purpose: Provide Biomedical Engineering services in the Botswana Defence Force
Job Duties and Responsibilities
a. Provide advice on Biomedical Engineering and procedures to ensure compliance to set standards.
b. Provide advice on the procurement of medical equipment and service contracts to conform to set standards.
c. Monitor and supervise installations as well as commissioning of medical equipment to ensure adherence to manufacturer’s guidelines and procedures. d. Facilitate user training to operators to ensure optimal and safe use of medical equipment.
e. Develop and Implement Medical equipment procurement and disposal policies to ensure compliance to set standards.
f. Develop and Implement a maintenance plan in order to reduce downtime of non-specialized equipment.
g. Manage the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to ensure operational efficiency.
